Whew! I’m almost caught up.
Looks like the next big event was that Lydia learned how to sit up all by herself. She’d been trying for a couple of weeks, but it still surprised me when she actually did it. Seems like she’s growing up soooo quickly.
Now she’s an old pro…she almost never falls over and if she starts leaning she always pulls herself back up. She’s even taken to purposely leaning WAY over almost like she’s going to take off crawling. Maybe one day, but I’m in no hurry.
We have a bike in the garage that has a broken chain. Luke decided to bungee it to the table saw and use it as an exercise bike. Not really sure why they all decided to get on it, but they were pretty impressed with themselves.
I’ll share this one just because it’s so rare that I get any pictures of the bigger boys. We had to do some shopping before the Assembly, just like we do every year, and Nathan found this velvet jacket that he fell in love with. Good thing it was a 25% off day.
The weekend before Jon and Nathan left for the Assembly, Jon decided to take the boys fishing. That necessitated a trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods in order to secure fishing licenses. While we were there the boys found some football gear to try on.
Of course, Abbie couldn’t be left out.
That blur is Caleb…
that’s a pretty common occurrence when the camera comes out.
But something about this shirt made him stand still.
And here’s the kid who would actually play football if he could…Luke.
When we got home it was time to put new fishing line in all the poles. Nathan didn’t want anything to do with going fishing the next day. He was convinced that fishing was boring. Turned out he wasn’t as miserable as he thought he would be.
Zeke couldn’t wait to help with the fishing line.
Unfortunately I don’t have any picture of their actual fishing trip. Jon told me that since I wasn’t going I didn’t get any pictures. So sad! It sounded like they had a good time, in spite of getting up at 5:30 A.M. to go.
Guess I better wrap this up…there are a few more things that happened in August but they deserve their own posts, so I’ll be back.
